Question .ie domain name transfer for client

A client of mine currently has their .ie domain name registered through another company, I basically handle the design and hosting of their website. Recently they got a bill from their domain name registrar and have asked me if it is possible for us to take over their domain so they are just billed by the one company. They also had a bad experience getting their website done through the other company which is why they went with us and would be happier if we handled it all for them.

My question is basically is it possible for me to take care of the transfer process for them, and if so how should I go about it? They would remain admin, whereas I would be the new technical and billing contact. Obviously I want to avoid the client transferring directly themselves to another registrar so I can put my own mark-up on the price and try to keep it as white label as possible. But is it possible and will they receive email notifications from the new registrar? Sounds like a lot of trouble!
