Yes good point, I am trying to be more active in the community. I just figured others in the same industry may be willing to form a "web-ring" in a non-competitive stance.
I've done all the typical things, like link back from my own websites to my blog which already have page rank. I've also submitted to Dmoz but that is a bit like winning the lotto

Persistence is what I need and quality content!
