Basically it goes like this:
1 - Open nominations. Anyone can nominate anyone else
2 - Nominees confirm their interest
3 - Public vote
That's about it. It's democratic.
After step 3 the IIA board would meet to adjudicate on some of the special awards and to check the votes etc., but it's basically down to a public vote ie. you cannot buy an award |
