2 words of advice (for free): Don't bother. Yes, you've learnt loads in setting it up, and you deserve to feel you've accomplished something. However, you have no direction, no intent, not delivered much by way of design, no incentive/focus to encourage userbase. All that'll happen, I'd wager, is that you'll end up with a forum that has an out of date install with known security issues, and end up spending your time on dealing with spam (with a few hundred posts to the forum's name).

Harsh? I don't intend it to be, but if you want a busy forum, it needs to be specific (or you need a huge number of good friends). You're not going to create a boards.ie without a whole load of effort, money and determination (and even then they are pretty much a one off because of their early-to-market attribute).
