    Default Cost of Amazon Cheques?

Does anyone know offhand how much it costs to cash / lodge an Amazon cheque in US dollars?

I've been taking gift vouchers for the last 3 quarters, but I'm considering taking cash as the earnings are pretty good per quarter these days

I recently lodged a sterling cheque to my account, cost me nothing. I suppose it would vary according to the bank though.

    Which bank are you with?

With AIB there are fees on any non-Euro cheques as far as I know ...

Don't have the exact figure to hand but it was like 3-4%, it is whatever the commission on foregin exchange is.

I cashed a US cheque into my AIB account recently and only got hit with the exchange rate.

    4% on $100 is $4
    That's quite a large percentage....

I don't think I lose as much on my adsense earnings which are paid in via EFT

Even before Google used EFTs, they had a bank here (Citibank Ireland) issuing their European cheques since early 2006, so there was no doubt a saving there.

Cheques are mediaeval. Go for IBAN or PayPal.
