My old friend Grandad started blogging a couple of months ago, and highly recommends WordPress.

If you don't want to go down the road of hosting your own then there are plenty of free hosting sites out there. Wordpress themselves and Blogspot.com to name but two.

I have been looking for a .net blogging software but have found very little apart from Community Server. A .net wordpress would be awesome.

There are a few ASP based blogging solutions that I've looked at.

Some of them are open source, while others aren't

I think I blogged about them last year....

Asp / asp.net Blog Engines?

I didn't find much that time round ...

I have since come across:

dasBlog - The Official Site

Which looks like it might be relatively usable ..

If I had the energy I'd try it out

You can install PHP and mySQL on Windows no problem. And if you're planning on blogging a lot, it would be worth it just for WordPress.

Installing PHP and MySQL sounds like to much trouble, I wouldn't know where to start.
Here's an ASP.NET solution I came across, looks promising Presstopia : ASP.NET Blogging Software
