Thread: Wordpress.com signup and register confussion

Ok, so I'm trying to sign up for a free wordpress.com blog but for some reason it isn't as simple as I would expect it to be...

I went thru the whole registration process, which was fine. And then I logged onto their homepage with my username and password...and what then? There is no indication of where to go next...

I then went to my blog homepage - Another Apple Mac Blog - Which has an admin login - Another Apple Mac Blog › Login - But when i login there, it brings me to a page to update my profile.

All I can do on that page is update my password (which i have now done at least 5 times), what the **** am I meant to do eh?

I have searched thru their FAQs with no success.

All i want to do is to get onto my admin panel so that i can start configuring my blog. Does anyone have a wordpress.com blog?

Sorry Rollo, but I just went to test it out by signing up and everything went A-ok.

I signed up, they sent me an email (You can't do anything until you click the link to activate in the email) and then I was able to log in and write posts.

You know there's a difference between wordpress.org and wordpress.com? Maybe you're trying to log into the wrong one (fishing for possible soln's here). I've found wordpress to pretty easy to deal with.

Yeah something has gone awry here. I had to signup to .com to get a Akismet API key and all went really smoothly. I even made a post directing people to my real blog

I followed the link and posted a comment. Maybe it will be sent to you and you can work out which ID and password you used to set the thing up with.
