I am trying to install it still! I have wamp, and Smart FTP on my comp. When I follow the tutorial and try to install oscommerce I upload the: 'catalog' folder 'includes' folder and go down to the 'configure' box to right click on it. However when I right click on it I am not offered the 'chmod' option but rather just the copy paste open options and not the other extended choice. Does anyone know why this is happening. Cheers, C.

I think SmartFTP is detecting that the PC is windows and not allowing CHMOD. However, if you have local access you can just uncheck Read-Only by Right-Clicking the folder and going to properties.

Thanks for replying David. I think my problem might be something else as when i went to uncheck the box, I pressed apply and it gave me the option to do all sub folders aswell. I tried both options (applying to this folder only & applying it to all sub folders). It wont however let me 'Apply' it when I come out of this option. It only lets you press okay or cancel. When I go back in to the folder the default read only is still checked. Thank you though for taking the time to reply. C. Last edited by crescent; 21-04-2007 at 11:27 AM.
