I've been using OpenAds (formerly phpadsnew) for years.
Normally upgrades just work and the ads keep running.

I upgraded an install yesterday and I've been having really odd experiences ever since with ads simply not displaying

Has anyone had issues with the latest version?

The following FAQ item should help you research this issue:
I have invocation tags on my website but no ads are displaying. Why? | Openads ad server: take control of your advertising
