Just got a visit from hacker Dwack
One of my Wordpress sites just got hacked.There was a snippet of code in the htaccess file and removing it somehow enabled a nice big image of hacker DWACK and a link to a Facebook fan page of His Royal Highness Sheik somebody or other.
Just forgot to update to latest version of WP
Lucky I Had a Backup
I blocked all Asian,African,and Middle East traffic
I have been changing DB details in config now,from the standard wp_ as an added security measure
tried the 5 passwords for salts etc but get a white screen
not an enjoyable experience meeting Mr.DWACK
In my n00b days of owning a website, it was a joomla based cycling club website that had horrifying red and green colours and it looked truly dire. My website was hacked twice, by two different attackers. I still to this day can't understand why a website would be manually hacked even though it had <1000 visits.
