| Ok I've got a problem ... Homepage If you look at this you should see an absolutely positioned menu on the topish right (id of the element is mainmenu) This works in most browsers ... however its broken in IE 5.5 / 6 I'm hoping someone could have a look and tell me something obvious I've done that is breaking this ? (its been driving me nuts for a while now and its possible an obvious tweak or I'm just missing it completely) Cheers for any help, James

| Is there any reason why the mainmenu is below the header? |
| |||||
| just the way it developed ... moving it outside doesn't seem to have any difference and as its an absolutely positioned element I would hope it wouldn't matter too much (I just tested it above ... and its still the same result) |

| I haven't dabbled in absolute/relative position in a looong time. If I was you, I would place the mainmenu in the header and use floats, IE will play more nicely with this and it makes more sense in you markup. |

| Are people still using IE 5.5 ?

| Was thinking the exact same thing... |

| Just for laughs I thought I'd check the browser usage stats on Search.ie Nearly 80% of visitors to the site over the period of September 1st 2007 to January 9th 2008 were using some version of Internet Explorer However most of them were using either IE7 or IE6 Only 0.46% of users were using IE 5.5 Scarily enough there were entries for versions prior to that one!!

| In this case it not working in 5.5 isn't that big an issue ... it not working in IE 6 though is ... as it makes up about 30% of the visitors I think |

I think I upgraded my desktop in work to IE6 only about two or three weeks ago when AIB finally upgraded us to the new version of their system
