    Default Dropdown navigation

    Hi folks,

I'm trying to create a dropdown navigation element similar to that on the top right of Dublinbynumbers - Dublin's Directory and Guide - gyms, doctors, hotels, creches... . I've used a mixture of javascript, css and tables, but I was wondering if there is a better way to do it? Is it OK to use tables here? Any advice appreciated.

    Default Suckerfish baby!

    Suckerfish baby! .

A Tried and tested drop down menu, works on all browsers using pure CSS.

    IE5.5 / 6 requires a small bit of a javascript. IE7 does not.

A List Apart: Articles: Suckerfish Dropdowns

    Example of a pretty version.
    the Suckerfish

    There's also Son of Suckerfish.

Son of Suckerfish Dropdowns | HTML Dog

    A pretty example:
    Suckerfish Dropdowns - Perciformes!

I'm using this method on my new Drupal site in development, looks very slick, I love it.

Thanks guys, more CSS resources than you could shake a stick at! Especially like the Stu Nicholls one.

I've been trying to put together a css dropdown navbar on dropdown_test , but getting it to work on IE6 is making my head hurt. Hopefully I'll get there in the end though.

I think I should of read this piece of advice before starting:

"If you want to play with this one, be warned, it is very tricky as you are playing with parallel css files and a dual purpose menu.
I have literally been trying to perfect this method for several months".

I think I might start over again from scratch!
