| if you want the easy way out then download a template you like and dont change the template, only change the positions the modules display in and unpublish the ones you dont want - that way it should display right in both ie and firefox - this is what i would recommend it looks to me as if you had a go at adapting one of the templates that came with joomla i dont really think this is the best idea because some of these templates are pretty complicated and you can do your head in unless you know how to read code pretty well if you dont want to use an off the shelf template the way it is then you could design your own template - there is a very good and easy to follow tutorial here except that she doesnt really explain module positions and how they work ( tip : figure this [module positions] out before you go any further with joomla if you dont know it already ) .... to be honest with you though - if you have difficulty getting sites to display right cross browser then you are much better off doing a search for a template you like ( or getting a designer to write one for you ) and then spending your time learning how to use joomla and getting the modules where you want them and the content the way you want it etc google "joomla templates" if you want some - lots of them are free also hope this helps |
