I know why, i've only had one for 12hrs and i'm absolutley blown away, this thing kicks ass in a way I never thought possible, Can't believe you can run so many hungry apps at the one time so easily and in such a cool way, the function button takes on a whole new meaning....I just want to play with it all night and show it off to girls

can't believe I got so much for so little....picked up a Titanium Powerbook G4, 1GHZ PowerPC G4 processor, 512mb of ram, superdrive, wifi, bluetooth, full adobe suite, office, 80gb hard drive, 17in Widescreen.. all for 500 euro....

If you've never had an apple I can assure you would have no regrets in buying one of these, it's 3 years old but its faster and cooler than anything i've used before....

One drawback you can't watch 4oD

VA has been wanting a mac for a while (kinda) ... if I tell her she won't be able to watch 4oD ... that kills that idea for her

Also I've friends who preferred the keyboard on the older power books ... its the one thing that I'm not sure about with the MacBook / Pro

It's one of the old powerbooks I got, I was a bit worried at first that it would be uncomfortable, but I have to say it's the Job, Feels nice, plenty of room for your hands and wrists, my hands are a lot less cramped than on an ordinary laptop and the fact that my new *old* powerbook feels like something from 2020 has me over the moon...

haven't tried a new mac book or pro yet.....might think of upgrading this in 4 or 5 years it's that far ahead of it's time compared to vista or xp

Buy a second hand one just to try one out, sure if you don't like it you can always give to her indoors...

Have played with one briefly before .. hooking it up to a windows network .. was quite straight forward ... but the keys .. I just don't know about the keys ...

I'll be heading to new york in April .. so I've got my toys list for then ... will have to see if the Air is worth it after a few more reviews ... Also Im not doing that much face to face client meetings so it'd purely be a toy for play

Edit: I'd probably recommend crucial.com for some more memory .. bung in another 1 if you can should be quite cheap as well

The keys feel perfect on this, not sure about the new ones...

The guy I bough it from is going to upgrade the ram for me, he only deals in apples, it honestly feels like there's about 20 gigs of ram in it already... it's nothing like a pc, it shouldn't be even compared to one....

If you after a new one at some stage give me a pm, I can get them a whole lot cheaper than you will in New York, I can save you nearly 1000 on a new mac book, I went for the second hand option as it saves me going out buying any software... the full adobe suite is a major bonus... that's worth more than the price of the laptop on it's own...

Who knows you might even see apples on the new site if I ever get my head around joomla

It could be that the new AV picked up on the old AV's quarantine list and thought they were viri.

The only AV I would recommend to anyone on PC is NOD32. It's fantastic. Does its thing without any fuss. It's very OS friendly too in the sense that it isn't processor intensive and its scans are as transparent to the end user as possible,

i'm using Panda. Think it's to heavy though. Paid 70 euros for 3 computers.

Just to update - I no longer recommend either Avast or AVG (or Norton or McAfee).

My 2 AV products of choice are 1) NOD32 and 2) Avira, in that order.

1) They're the top 2 proactive AV tools as tested by independent (non-affiliate) sites e.g. Retrospective / ProActive Test May 2008

2) They both run very lightweight compared to other AVs like Norton, McAfee (this is excepting Avast and AVG which are both lightweight but suffer from poor test results)
