Default Buying .Com from registrant

Hi. I have a domain registration issue and I was wondering whether you had any experience that would help.
I've found a .com domain name that one of my clients, a startup business would really like to acquire and use. The domain is registered and live, although it seems to be just used as a forwarding page to another domain. I have the registrants details and I need to delicately enquire about buying the domain. I usually use godaddy.com for domain registrations and they offer a domain agent service for $60 plus commission, so I might engage them, but before I do, do you have any advice? Have you dealt with this kind of thing before? Can you recommend a particular agency or broker?
Any advice would be a great help.
thanks!

JC

I've no experience of GoDaddy's service, but I can't see why it wouldn't work for you. There are plenty of other companies offering this kind of service including Afternic and Sedo...

Have you considered approaching the registrant directly? Or perhaps not absolutely directly, but a little coy so to speak? Using a third party might signal a seriousness that may be reciprocated with inflated pricing. Approaching directly might result in a lower price, especially if you act nice.

You never know...
