It's depend on what kind of web site.
for example: webmaster forum, domain commerce, webhosting, are suitable .com

however, realestate, local service...etc are suitable .local

Personally I don't like .eu domains (I don't really like any of the other "newer" extensions such as .biz etc.) so my preference would be for blacknight.com.
