Anyone planning to take over the internet around here? This could be huge - I can't think of something off the top of my head but you could really make some money out of this.

According to CNET.com, to deter cyber squatters, some will cost $50k to register. Anybody considered the effect this is going to have on SEO and geo targeting?

Aunty isn't all bad. I discovered h2g2 some time ago and joined. The "Ace" system there is very well organised and I met lively minded posters. Are there other members on this forum? I have to admit that the template I chose is a bit "busy". BBC - h2g2 - Photographe Dublin - U5492436

I was answering Blacknight. I thought I could deflect some of the problems he had with the Beeb by mentioning a good experience I've had with it's shenanigans. I'm a lateral thinker... hope that explains adequately...

Can't have been as bad as the dire News.com report which linked the declining availability of IP addresses with the lack of choice in domain names.

So I will be able to register a domain such as www.call.1800-plumber for approx $100,000.

It should be interesting to see the fall out from this.
