Hi,
Can anyone tell me if .mobi are the only domains that will display on mobile devices? Are there different rules for different devices?
Do members here regularly develop sites for mobiles or do you get asked much for this?

The display on the mobile has absolutely nothing to do with the domain, however .mobi domains are meant to be used for mobile ready sites..
Thanks Blacknight. So I guess it would be better to advice the client to register a .mobi address for their mobile website, but how would it stop the mobile from indexing their regular site? Is there some way to re-direct mobile traffic or is this done by the mobile provider?

What you'll need to do is look at server-side browser sniffing
Have a poke around the dotmobi developer site and you should get some ideas:
mobiForge
Thanks Blacknight, that looks interesting.
I suppose just a text link on the index page would do it. I wasn't that interested in the whole area myself, it was just that a client asked about it. Now I am interested.
I wonder when we will run out of head space for all this stuff!![]()
