What about godaddy or sedo?
Anyone here have experience buying expired domains. What services do you use? They're snapped up fair quick, have to use someone.
What about godaddy or sedo?
read this from Mike Davidson (aka newsvine man) Mike Davidson: How to Snatch an Expiring Domain

cheers paul.
Yup, I used Mikes guide when I first started.
I have "snapped" over 20 names using SnapNames: The leading source for investment-quality, aftermarket domain names.
Bear in mind though, in the last few months they have started adding some REALLY dodgy registrars.
When the domains were registered with network solutions, the domains retained their age in the whois and also retained any google power they had (Only reason I bought). With some o the newer registrars, the age is reset.

As you know, I'm not too up on my domaining.
But snapnames cought a name for me, I won the auction and the register ended up being these guys:
The Web Business, LLC Home Page
I thought it was a joke at first. It was the first that was not registered with NS. I tried to transfer the domain to my current preferred registrar (An enom reseller) and it was locked. Fair enough. I tried to unlock it, no joy.
Contacted them over 20 times. No reply. No nothing.
I think it depends on what type of auction it is. If the name has been fully deleted and is re-registered, than it will show as a new registration in the WHOIS.
If it's a pre-release type auction, then it keeps it's original registration date.
I've picked up some nice names from the mid-to-ate 90's using the pre-release auctions.
You're right about dodgy registrars, I've had some with Pool and Snapnames that were a nightmare to transfer out.
I am looking a domain that says it's pending awaiting deletion , but it says the expiration date is next year. What does this mean ?Registrar: GO DADDY SOFTWARE, INC.

Not too sure Paul, but the registration date (Creation Date: 05-jan-2007) might suggest that someone has registered it to test it for traffic (domain tasting) and decided not to keep it.
I might be totally wrong though.
