Thread: Seo, web analysts and affiliate marketing all needed

Just a question: but is an SEO and a web analyst and an affiliate marketer an interchangable job title?

12 years SQL Server admin and SQL developer were interchangable but they soon broke free. Personally, I don't think they are - I see them as different skillsets. I know some people are good at SEO and PPC but Online marketing is becoming very competitive and I would have thought they had specialised already.

Of course, it depends on your interpretation of SEO - which could be onsite + Analytics focused - but then it probably won't help you rank.

sorry I should have been much clearer on that point. They are seperate roles and I also will want to take on a senior level SEM to oversee strategy. I hope that clears up matters but really need fill several roles

SEO Manager required for a large online company based in south Dublin. This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a worldwide brand that is experiencing substantial and sustained growth. The main responsibilities in this role will be working with website traffic analysis, creation and implementation of an international SEO strategy, actively test, analyze and optimize keywords, title and descriptions and landing pages to help to position the website pages effectively with user audiences and drive sales. The successful candidate will have a degree and come from a SEO background in international optimization, international link building, web analytics, and reporting. You must also have strong quantitative skills including the ability to create reports, understand return on investment, and select relevant data for analyzing future actions. Experience in PPC, social networking i.e. Face book, Digg etc and basic internet, HTML and Java script skills will be a distinct advantage.

Web Traffic Analyst required for a major online company based in south Dublin with a global reach and actively expanding in Europe, Asia, and Latin America providing career progression potential. You will serve as a resource for the Search Engine Marketing team, providing reports, data, and analysis to the team and periodic reporting to company executives and partners, using the existing web analytics source and back end reporting functionality for a number of web properties in international markets. You will be required to create functional reports crucial in valuing and investigating future opportunities and report to Business Intelligence and Social Media teams.
You will also assist in the development of internal tools and incorporation of external tools.


The successful applicant will have a Third level qualification and come from a numerical, analytical or online marketing background with experience in web analytics. You must have the ability to compile data in meaningful ways, able to convey ideas though reporting and have an understanding of SEO or paid search or keyword research. Familiarity with landing page testing or A/B testing is a plus.
