We’re investigating taking on a junior to mid-level Developer, initially for a year to see how she/he would fit in. Salary will be commensurate with the ability and output of the Developer and will be in the 25k-35k range. Much of the work involves developing media-rich websites using Joomla / Moodle elearning / Wordpress etc. and web apps using PHP/MySQL, Flash/Flex or other tools.
The candidates attitude, willingness to learn and technical skills are more important that qualifications; therefore an impressive portfolio is as important as a programming-related degree.
We’d like someone who is big into technology, curious about future tools and interfaces, and keeps in touch with slashdot, engadget, DevShed, etc.
Any enquiries MUST contain links to websites / web apps / projects / scripts that you have done yourself (or played a large part in). Clever / creative / impressive approaches are more important than code weight. Any platforms / web apps / languages … – we just want to see your potential :)
Technical Skillset
- Demonstrated development experience with PHP/MySQL, Joomla / Wordpress / other (To a high level)
- Javascript, CSS, AJAX (to a medium level)
- Flash/Flex/JavaFX/Other RIA tool(s) (to a medium level)
Personal profile
- Self-learner, self-motivated
- Persistent, with a passion for the art of web development
- Can show examples of self-learning / personal projects etc.
