Eden Recruitment is working closely with a top tier company (within the Pharmaceutical sector) who are looking to source a Business Intelligence Analyst for a new team within their growing organisation.

Right now this company is in the early stages of building an Enterprise Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence capability into their organisation. As this is a new team, the emphasis and job function of the BI Analyst will be focused on the implementation of new solutions rather than the maintenance of existing mature systems (this role is sure to provide a good career challenge to suitable applicants).

Skills and Systems Expertise:

The Business Intelligence Analyst will require real experience operating in a BI function (If you are working within a Business Intelligence function, then you will not be considered for this role).

You will have practical expertise utilising a mix of the following Enterprise Systems and Platforms (in either an “off the shelf” or “bespoke” format).

• Oracle e-Biz suite
• Peoplesoft
• Other CRM platforms

Responsibilities:

The Business Intelligence Analyst You will be involved in developing, evaluating and recommending solutions to meet user needs in the form of logical data model and functional specifications, working in collaboration with the Business Intelligence development team (in-house and third party) to ensure development work is completed to specification.

You will also develop reports using the Oracle Business Intelligence (OBIEE) solution.

A key part of the role will be the managing of user acceptance testing, system testing, implementation and post-implementation support of new/changes to solutions. The job holder will be responsible for the training of super-users within the business areas on the use of the specific business intelligence solution delivered.

You will Investigate, clarify and agree user requirements for new business intelligence requests and negotiate and agree scope and timescales with users to achieve a best possible match between operational needs and Business Intelligence systems suitability and capability.

Experience and Qualification:

With prior relevant experience in delivering Business Intelligence solutions, you should possess a Bachelors Degree in business, technology, information technology or related discipline.

• You will have experience of Dimensional Modelling principles and use of formal, structured methods and data modelling tools in developing business requirements and solutions. You will have also demonstrated ability in Data Analysis (inclusive of principles of statistics and data mining).
• You should have experience of SQL to run basic queries for data analysis and data profiling plus broad-based knowledge of business intelligence solutions. Experience in Oracle Business Intelligence (OBIEE) would be a distinct advantage. An overall understanding of systems architecture & technology development lifecycle and good knowledge of Enterprise Data Model and Master Data management concepts would be advantageous.

Suitable applicants will have strong communication skills with excellent negotiation and presentation skills along with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
