| I know there was a question in there somewhere - so what was it |

| oooooooooh..... the question my dear man was - do many people still use WAP services- (ok it guess could have been expanded to - why would a vendor support wap , and do many vendors still support wap (I am not big in mobiles- do new mobiles still support wap?)) Having worked as a j2me codemonkey in the past I was merely surprised to see WAP on the list - I don't even remember the last time I saw a wap webpage or reference to wap on a website.

| Well depending on circumstances a client may want the pages to downgrade gracefully. There is no point in having a crappy phone (and people still do) if your mobile site is built in xhtml mobile compliant code - the phone cant display it properly, because its browser cannot render certain things properly. WAP/WML would the very basic of mobile websites and obviously moving up to XHTML niceness |
