I've never had experience with Admin and Vbulletin. I always used Open Source .

Just wondering though, doesn't Vbulletin provide support for problems like this? That's why they charge you for the software isn't it?

It should be sorted out ...

Problem was with the reputation required for the usergroups

It may only update in an hour or so though as its an automagic task

---

vBulletin does do support ... but why bother with vBulletin support when you've got the Irish Web Masters willing to sort it out for you :P

EDIT: OK its not actually sorted its ****ing weird ...

You can force the promotions to be in the admin panel, check the scheduled tasks tab.

if you want me to have a look, give me access.

should be sorted out ... I had figured out the scheduled task bit as well pretty handily ...

Problem was with a change to the primary group and then the next promotion not working on that primary group as it was no longer scanning it.

vBulletin seems quite nice and powerful hmm... the more I play with it .. the more I'm liking it compared to the OS ones I've used in the past

(still haven't bought that license I was talking about)

It is quite nice, but its table soup and I can't stand the default design. PHPBB3 looks very good although I haven't played with the new admin system yet. It does look very flexible design wise and its CSS fun!

Having said that I stopped using phpBB2 cause it was awful and I switched to SMF which seems good so far. Easy to install plugins and quite powerful.

Never bought a licence for Vbulletin myself.

I did a beta install of phpBB3 and was quite impressed .. after all the hacking I had to do on the original phpBB2 ... (nightmare when it came to spam)

I still think I'm going to be going the route of vBulletin for a board I'm going to get up and running shortly. costs a bit but I'll have the license .. the plugins seem to be pretty impressive not to mention the backend. As its commercial I'll have someone to fall back on for support as well which is always good

Might have a look at phpBB3 again when I get a chance just don't know when that'll be ... and I guess I've only ever played with SMF as an end user .. not as an admin

Well I can't see the option to upload my own avatar. Perhaps I don't have enough posts yet? Or perhaps I'm visually impaired?
