what about turning on restrictions on sig links again so that you have to have X posts to have your sig display ?

personally I notice 1+ posts a day with a load of links in their sig.
I'm all for introducing yourself ... but are we really ever going to hear from these people again ?
I think it lowers the value of the site (at least it does to me)
I quite like the restrictions over on Webmastertalk.co.uk you can't post links initially and you can't have a sig till X posts is reached.
Annoying yes for potentially spammers ... but if someone wants feedback on their site it'll still show up if they ask for it .. you just won't be able to click it.
(or the next poster can add the link to their return post if they feel like it)

Hmm
I think limiting the signatures might help, but I don't want to limit people from posting links just yet
Ok.l've tweaked the settings.
Users with 10 posts or less = no signature
Users with more than 10 posts = signature allowed (will appear depending on length of post etc., - but that's something different entirely)
Thanks ... and I see the first infraction. I personally just see lots of people just signing up ... leaving their link and away they go. I think it lessens the quality of the forum.
(yes .. says that guy with 3ish links in his sig ... me)
