Thanks blacknight (back down in galway again)

Cool to meet up and put some faces to usernames

The Harbour Master seemed to be an ideal location as well not too loud .. not too packed.
I'd guess 20 - 30 people showed up ? didn't do a head count but got to chat / rant to most people for a bit

My god though FitzSimon had some of the dearest guinness I've ever had and it was muck Being surrounded by 100 French people in dublin was bizarre

Don't think any photos were taken unless there were some sneaky ones

20 - 30 people? Thats a great turn out, nice one. Would be great to see more of these in the future. I'm sure there is a lot of hidden talent in the Irish Webmaster industry who really need to be brought forward and noticed.

I'm not too fond of the Guinness in FitzSimon's. Was the Harbour master any better? I read some bad reviews for their Guinness. Us stout drinkers are a fussy bunch.

1 bad pint (slop) ... and I steered clear of the guinness for the rest of the day / night. Was quite looking forward to a few pints of stout as well but I decided not to mix too much ... (best that way... I was bad enough as it was)

I think it was just about the right size turn out ... got to say hi to practically everyone people seemed to mingle nicely enough as well.

Found out that:
1. You haven't a clue what my business name is
2. You may not know how its pronounced
3. No one knows much of what I do (apart from posting too much)

Strange that all it takes is 1 bad pint and its off the Guinness for the rest of the night, I'm the same.

Exactly why these meet ups are very important, great way to get your name out there and what services you can provide.

I know 1 bloke who attends weekly meetings with other business owners so they can share what services they provide and work off referrals from each other. I joke that its like the freemasons but they seem to drum up good business with each other.

A couple of days back I spoke to a business owner/friend that I've known for the past 2 years and only came to learn about all his services. I was amazed, I thought he only did what was advertised on his site.

Just goes to show never under estimate who can provide what.

Sounds very like the masons ... but every city has its Junior Chamber of Commerce doesn't it ... If I was more outgoing I'd get involved in those as well. Who knows I might need to attend some Frank Mackey (Magnolia) style event to pick up customers and grow you business

As far as I know they do but the one I mentioned is only based on friends of friends. Its a you need to know the hand shake type group.

You not outgoing? I really cant imagine that, honestly. You really should get yourself into one of these groups, I've seen some really good referrals come from them.

Ah .. I guess I know some businesses that seem to pass my name on but nothing like a meetup. Could be a good idea though. But that would as well require a haircut

Yes and no to being outgoing ... give me 3 pints and some Sake (god bless wagamamas yesterday) and I'll talk to most people. Given the right crowd of people as well.

Feel free to PM me your contact details and list of services. I'm more than happy to pass people referrals.

Who needs these secret business meetings when you have IWF.

Great night it was. Hope everyone made it home safe and sound. Cheers Michele for the few pints - I stayed away from the double vodkas and redbull, you'll be glad to hear!!! We should probably make this a quarterly thing maybe? What you all think?

Here's a few snaps:

Cheers! Dave
