 Eircom web innovation fund Hi all, I got an entry away to the Eircom web innovation fund for their Web 2.0 competition. I have not heard anything back yet, but I suppose they probably have a lot of submissions to trawl through. Just wondering how many others here put in for it? cheers, Geoff         |

| There was a big debate about it a few months ago on creative ireland. If you've got a good enough idea, you'd be better off getting a private investor and it would be easier too. AFAIK, they are offering 4 sets of 25k investment and eircom want 6 months exclusivity to the final product and a share of revenue. You could probably get an investment of 25k for a brand new idea for 10-20% depending on the investor. Don't want to rain on your parade. I wish you the best of luck with it. | If its a good idea ... I'd guess you should be either approaching enterprise Ireland ... and looking for some input / advice from them. I really don't like the sounds of eircom 6 months exclusive

| hmm ok, well let's see what they come back with. The way I see it is that they've either been swamped with applications or it's just me and a few other crazys . Just thought I would try a drip test and see if anyone else went in for it.cheers, Geoff |

| I could never understand why people need money for a web startup. What costs have you apart from hosting? Register a domain and get coding! Being featured on eircom.net would be a nice boost though

| Have you ever launched a web start up on a shoe string? It's very difficult... I'm doing one at the moment and the design/development is costing 20k alone... never mind the marketing! |
