Thanks for that I had a good laugh myself.

Can someone fill me in as to what Irish Leaving Certs are?

If its what I think it is, we have a VCE certificate in Australia which stands for Victorian Certificate of Education. Its basically what you get when you complete high school. Is an Irish Leaving Cert the equivalent?

Yep pretty much the same ... you do two exams .. the Junior Cert .. and the Leaving Cert ... Leaving Cert to get into Uni ... 6 subjects irish english maths being manditory so all irish people should have some level of irish even if they claim the don't

in england its the GCE ? so more similar to the Australian exams I'd guess ? ...

In france its the BAC ...
