| I've a client looking to get some 360 degree pictures of rooms ... They are based in galway though (and their budget isn't up to much I would assume) its for a B&B ... what would be my best bet for doing this or getting someone to do it ? I'd be inclined to take digital camera turn it around a few times and through the power of photoshop ... make a 360 degree image ... Anyone any thoughts on it ? (I know there are lens you can get that will take an image like this ... but one .. I don't have a dSLR ... and two I wouldn't use it enough to justify the lens) Cheers, James

| I can't see a B&B paying for it to be done professionally like that though. Peter would be able to give you some good advice though. I have clients using this crowd but not sure of their pricing: Content Collector Rgds, Dave

Don't think anyone I know would have the type of lens for this either. (though I know some decent photographers) Hmm... the multiple shots approach might be the easiest way to go about it. Cheers for the help guys. |

| IMO just say if can't pay, then no. Easier in the long run. Otherwise you end up killing yourself for peanuts.

| Normally I'm inclined to say you're right ... in this case ... its one of those friend of a friend type things (which makes it even worse and which I know I shouldn't get involved in but such is life ... ) |

| For a school project I did this. I basically took a tripod and using a digital camera took pictures in a circle. Just make sure nobody is in the pictures and that nothing moves I used some freeware / shareware software to put it all together in a .mov or quicktime file from memory. I inserted it from there into a Flash file for the project I was working on. I can't recall the names of the software I used because it was like 4 years ago, but it worked ok. * I feel sorry for you doing one of those friend of a friend projects. |
