| Hi Everyone, I don't think there are many Drupal users out there in Dublin town, based on the last thread I posted. However if you are interested in Drupal it might be worth watching this thread on Drupal.org Dublin Call | drupal.org If your interested, please reply to the thread (either here or on Drupal.org) so we can get the ball rolling. I myself, am fairly new to Drupal but already can see its quite powerful and useful so even if your just interested in learning more it could be a good experience. Cheers, Gavin. |

| I'd be interested ... haven't used it that much ... and not recently ... but always interested to hear what others are doing with it ... it also seems to be pretty popular out there ...

I do plan to finish my comparison on my blog soon (I'm still evaluating a couple of CMS's) but I will say this: - Wordpress (Blog and very Simple websites) - Joomla - Ecommerce Selling Products online - Drupal - Community Driven Websites - Expression Engine - Publishing (online magazine style sites) I've since nailed down and looked into Drupal more and discovered some really cool things, problem is it takes a while to absorb all the info and understand what it can / can't do. Also while the Drupal.org website is great, it lacks in some areas that would make learning drupal easier to newbies. There are some efforts being made to make Drupal more user friendly, but these things take time and community effort. Drupal 4.7 was not very user friendly. 5.7 6.X versions are much better, but I believe 7.X is where most usability features are being worked on. I am hoping to meet some more experienced Drupal users and rack their brains too |

| I'd strongly recommend you add in to that mix of CMS's ... CMS Made Simple Did you include movabletype as well ? virtucart (spelling) ... was nice but hmmm I'm just not sure about OS Commerce ... = complete nightmare though so many people use it ... similarly Zen Cart ... |

| I'd add in CMS Made Simple anyways ... I LOVE the page structure and just the general way of doing things in it. Its very easy to template ... write your own bits and bobs for .. its the kinda thing one could give maybe a 2 hour workshop and have everyone up and running on it in no time OS Commerce ... I started a complete rewrite of parts of it before making it DIV friendly ... its just a nightmare .. and it was taking a VERY VERY long time ... with browser testing and so on to get it all right .. but what I was getting together was pretty cool ... I think version 2.0 will be pretty cool |
