Thread: Webmaster Meetup - Cork Oct.31-Nov.1

So hot on the heals of the rained out August Meetup...

BarcampCork is provisionally scheduled for November 1 2008. The wiki is going up shortly I believe. As Michele already mentioned about going to Cork next time, it would be nice to make a weekend of it, and pull in BarcampCork as well.

So I propose we head down on the Friday, head out for an ease-up, take in Barcamp on the Saturday, and then the follow-up festivities that night.

And of course for all of us self-employed/freelancers - it's all nicely set off as a reasonable business expense

So open to suggestions here - the above is just an idea, and it might not suit most people to make it down on Friday due to work etc.

I'd be up for that. Probably fly down and maybe try and get discounts for a group booking in a hotel maybe?

Hmmm, considering the weather stopped a few of us getting to the Dublin meetup and considering there is no sign of a Dublin Barcamp this year, this sounds like a plan.

Whats the train service like ? (I downloaded the Irish rail time table and it looks to be pretty decent??)

How long would the drive be ... for anyone that has done that ?

For the sake of convenience, take the train. Train station is walking distance to the city centre

I usually drive down, as my mother is based in Midleton

If nothing comes up I'll be there...

I will do my best, depends on how my holidays work out, I might need to save some. Seeing as I can only fly Cork <--> Munich on certain days.

I will definately try and come down. I will probably hire a car for the weekend and drive down. It takes about 3 hours from memory.

Not sure yet, but I may have space in the car (if anyone wants to car pool it) - depends on if my girlfriend and sister want to come to Cork with me or stay in Dublin.

Shame about the weather last weekend, hopefully this time things will be a bit better.

I have moved back to Cork so I have no excuses for not been able to attend.
