Has anyone had any luck with the geographic target thing?

I can't see how you can set a site to target Ireland in general, as it's looking for a full address

You can just put in partial addresses. Like Ireland, or Dublin , Ireland. I set up my dot coms that I wanted to target the US a bit more as just the United States.

Just ignore the address field.

It's also possible to target multiple countries with one site - just use sub directories / sub domains and set them up separately in the console.

One thing - it apparently can take anything up to 2 months to take effect.

Weird. It let me assign a subfolder to Ireland without a whimper.... no address entered. .com domain used.

What tld are you trying it with Michele?

Ok this is really screwed up

One of my Google accounts lets me choose a country easily (the one I hadn't been using!) while the other one doesn't!!!

One other thing - it only works for non-geographic TLDs.

My understanding is that if you have a cTLD it wont let you use the form.

Nope - still waiting, but the site in question is a large site which uses sub folders for different locales. I think that complicates issues. I also think this is tied to a full recrawl of the targeted sub folders...

I've heard anecdotal info from others, but until I see it with my own two eye...
