Thread: SERPS swinging all over the place

One of my sites is seeing some massive swings in the SERPS (see the red compared with one of my competitors)

Over the last 3 weeks, it bounces from position 15 or so, to 4/5. And it does this a few times a day. Ultimately I would like position 5 to stay, but I am a little confused that is jumps around so much. I've never really seen this much of a change, and for over a longer period of time.

I noticed that myself in the last few weeks but I think it depend on which Google server you are connecting.

Now I rank #1 5 min. later #3.

Um 'google dance' ended a long time ago.

Actually I think there is growing evidence that something is awry with Google. I think they may have had to roll-back data, or change something significant. Backlinks accumulated in the past few weeks may no longer be indexed and will have to be re-crawled.

Anyone else noticed that Googlebot has also died recently?

I agree with Richard, there definitely looks as if theres been a change at google. The serps for my keyword changes every 5 mins. One site that appears on Pg1 , is also on Pg 2 when I click the next page.
