| I had a long and candid chat with one of my friends who works / worked for ModernGigabyte.. He sounded very upbeat about the whole thing - more than I was to be honest, though for very different reasons. The problem I see with the Parallels acquisitions is that they could end up in an overly dominant position and not have any real need to innovate

| Very true. A bit like their acquisition of Hpshere - initially saying they would maintain, now saying all hsphere providers must 'inevitably' move to the new Automation platforms... Modernbill will probably be no more than a very small host tool' within the next 9-12 months, altho some of it's nicer features might creep into PEM billing modules. Monopolies are dangerous in any industry, and Paralels are certainly that now for the hosting industry. Soon the only choice will be buy their products, or build your own. |
