It depends on how "mature" the content is, but generally speaking I don't think you'll have too many issues.
If it's hardcore then you'd really want to be looking at vps / dedicated
What are the irish hosters policy regarding Adult material ?
I've a website (jokes / funnies website) that I want to put onto irish hosting ... now its not "that" bad ... I just don't want to break any policies and some images may contain the odd flash of something.
I could put this onto my VPS instead of shared hosting as well... if that'd make a difference.
I'm asking in general first before I ask the individual hosting companies.
(or go trawling through all the policy information ... I hate legalese)

I can't see you having any issues. We'd host quite a few "erotic" sites and as I tell the owners - as long as they don't break the law we really don't care.
Didn't really think I would come up against too many issues still a bit of a case of better safe than sorry.
Also unsure on "shared" hosting what the policies are.

Shared hosing policies are normally of the 'if it doesnt break the law, do what you like' variety.
We used to host hundreds of sex shops, strippograms and similar, all with content more risque sounding that what you're suggesting forbairt![]()
damn I really must check who my ip neighbours are on my various sites

As long as it doesnt break the law, it's fine.
i knew it was legally allowed I just thought there was a policy of not to, particularly amoung the big players
