Any revenue?
Hi,
Revenue is pretty low because I've been running a free promotion since its startup. I don't feel as if it's viable to charge users for its current traffic. Hence my latest promotional work. I have alot more one-way links pointing towards the site now than I had when Google last updated the PageRanks. They'll update the PageRanks again in March (it's usually 4 times per year that they do this). I'm estimating that it'll either go up to 3 at the least. Could go up to 4 if I'm lucky. 5 if I'm God.
On the car section, Amazon affiliate links relating to cars are ready to go live. I'm just holding off using them until I get a higher surge of traffic. Basically, I took the best selling automotive items off Amazon and rotated them with a PHP script on the cars section. More can be added to the script easily.
In terms of adsense, I've noticed a higher CTR since I changed the layout of my adsense ads. Up from 0.50% to 0.75%. In the past 7 seven days, the eCPM has been $1.38. I've made $13.41 since I integrated adsense, which is admittedly a low number, but not surprising seeing as the traffic is still pretty low.
I forgot to mention the details about my adsense for search function. I integrated it into the left column of the website about two weeks ago. Results are pleasing.
CTR of 17.65%.
CPM of $32.00
3 ad clicks from 17 search queries.
Update: wrote a few articles for the SellMix blog. Got 555 unique visitors today in referrals. Link posted on reddit. Other sites linked to the post aswell. More one-way links.
Have you a payment system integrated into the system ready to go when traffic is generated?
Anything like having the phone options like done deal has?
Hi,
Yes, I have a payment system ready. PayPal IPN is used to accept payments online. Adverts are all paid for and are automatically updated as "paid for" by the system. Error reporting is also in place to catch any errors (database connection loss etc) that might occur.
As for phone options, I have an IVR-accepting-script in place that will handle payments via phone, should the need arise. Before setting up SellMix, I got in contact with the same guys that handle the DoneDeal phone payment system. I had worked with another buy and sell company as a freelancer and had programmed their phone payment system. There is a script that is pre-written to handle phone payments on the SellMix server. It's just not cost effective to use until the site is seeing sufficient traffic
Can you offer support setting up the telephone service a few months down the line? Sorry for the questions but might have a client interested in it.
Of course I can. Not that much work would be needed. As I said, the IVR script is basically ready-to-go. I don't intend to just dump this website on somebody.
