Post Contract Position Available

Hi all,

A short term contract position to help design and code websites and work very closely with in the house developer is available with us. You can work from home or the office but some minimal office attendance is required. You must be able to produce examples of previous work where design and code are of high standard and smart use of CSS was used. All applications must include URL’s of examples of work. All applications will be treated with the strictest of confidence. This may be ideal to recent graduates or current students.

Must have good knowledge of:

Adobe Photoshop and ImageReady CS2
Macromedia Flash 8 (not essential)
High Knowledge of Xhtml and CSS
Able to produce Standards W3C Compliant Code for they're own designs
Some experience in website usability issues
Experience in SEO and Add-words campaigns a plus (not essential)

All questions here relating to this position will be answered promptly (9-5) and you can contact me here or via pm if you prefer.

Why is that? Just curious as there are some very good experienced designers on the forum that may be able to help.

It was purely intended as a suggestion not a statement of fact we are open to all applications but I thought it may be more suited to some like this as it is a contract position and a not a contract job if you understand the difference. A second reason would be that current students and recent grad's tend to be more up to date with current standards although I am aware that this not always the case.
But as i said before i am open to all applications.

It's not always the case.

Can you give us more information regarding the work and what will be required during the "Minimal office attendance"? What sort of office attendance will be required during subsequent followups?

Thanks
Dave

Well as I said the job would involve designing and and coding in Xhtml and CSS. This is a 9-5 type job where you would working direcdtly with the developer, what is implied by Minimal office attendance is that we want some one who is willing and able to come in when and if required in order to work more closely with the team or for any other reason. We are based in Dublin by the way.

Might that be a reference to the remuneration offered?

Sorry, couldn't resist

Hmmm. I've found that it's (almost) never the case. College courses are usually the last to catch up with current trends and industry experience generally separates the men from the boys. I'd have to be cynical and suspicious like RedCardinal and ask what your perceived hourly/daily rate is?

You're tempting me just for the curiosity factor, but I think I know what the outcome would be
