I'm looking for someone who possesses all the technical kills I do not, to help me develop and update my website. I also need to set up a VPN and a few other similar things. This will probably only amount to a few hours a week most of the time but could be more initially. I'm looking for quotes on an hourly basis. Many thanks Caran.

I think you need to provide a MUCH more detailed spec. A few hours can quickly expand into a full project. PM me the details if you are not comfortable posting here.

Sorry yes I haven't provided much info. Unfortunately this is as it's lots of ideas that have been floating around my head whilst I've been learning a little. We have an eCommerce site for wine and food and whilst it's very beautiful it does not fulfil it's function. The person who built the site has some very conflicting views to mine and is more concerned with how it looks rather than if it works or not. Yes the few hours could expand a lot as I have more ideas and would very much depend on how much time I was dedicating to this part of the business which can vary. The SEO end of things I have managed myself up until now and have done a very good job for a novice we rank No1 in Google for 4 of our chosen keyword search terms. Things I definitely want to do 1. Set up VPN - most urgent. 2. Expand information part of site 3. Add Adsense to this section. 4. Create a type of forum/review section for food and wine (mostly restaurants). 5. Apply separate sections for all the different areas of our business that can be easily updated by ourselves. Hope this is an improvement, C.

I think you should draw up a detailed spec of exactly what you require as you will not get ANY takers with such a broad scope.

I actually have two people interested but I want to shop around a little more. I haven't given these people any more info than this - and yes they are professionals who have been recommended by someone I trust. However they are not based here and I feel I should keep what business I can in Ireland I believe I am probably the client from hell (unintentionally). I do have ideas at 4am and get up and start sending emails. I do have a vision, but not the knowledge or expertise to implement it or even draw up a detailed spec (I don't think so anyway). If anyone is interested in discussing this with me great - send me your contact details. If not it's no problem I'll keep looking in other ways, C.

| You could do it from a time based point of view. You believe it will only be a couple of hours each week so set up a retainer with someone for 3hours a week. No matter what your ideas and requirements are they only work those 3 hours and you only pay for three hours. Anything beyond that can be agreed each time. It might help you focus on your priorities each week and you get the important work done over time.
