I am in immediate need of someone who has enough knowledge in phpbb to remove the person who set up our forum...He has taken over the management of our site forum and insists on asserting his "founder" status which he set up at inception.
I am the owner of this site and consider it to be an emergency situation. He has threatened to delete the forums.
If you have access to the hosing account you can look in the DB and reset his password and remove his admin privileges all directly in the DB. Also change any of the hosting account passwords if he has them and check in the DB to make sure he hasn't set up any other test or backup admin accounts.
don't forget the FTP account.
reset that as well.

Is it time to Give Up
I changed the password for the database access after giving up on figuring out the database. I wasn't aware that the forum calls the database using th old password. I deleted the old password inadvertently.
I think the only way to recover now is to hire someone. I'm just not of a mind right now to concentrate. Where do I find someone in a hurry. I do not want to lose my small membership by being down for days.
I find it hard to read small print with aging eyes which is 50% of the problem of not being able to work on this myself.
