You need to gain owner right first, and once that's done the rest will be easy.
The design is nice and you should leave it as it is.
Few improvements on the text, title, meta tags, alt tags, href title, etc..., move the javascript in an external file as it pushes the main content down the page, and more...

You will find companies that do both design AND hosting, however you might be better off keeping the two separate (I would say that though, wouldn't I? )

Nah... really... Give Michele a shout in www.blacknight.ie (if you havn't already). I'm sure he'll help you move the site and domain over and get you full access to it.

As for the design/development/database: there's a bunch of us online here that do that type of work. People I can think of (from past posts) include myself (of course), redflystudios, ph3n0m, louie, edenweb, and more if you do a search.

As for SEO, most of us do some level of SEO with our work but the likes of redcardinal - www.redcardinal.ie - specialise only in SEO and could be worth talking to Richard over there.

If I can get some form of expanded profile / service directory that works with vbulletin it would be the ideal solution ie. share the existing info from the DB rather than recreating it

I would like to thank all who have posted and also those that have contacted me directly. I am as a priority trying to sort out domain and hosting and as soon as this is dusted I will progress to the next stage of design and further enhancements to the site.

I've had good fortune to pass this way and have been very impressed with the positive and helpful outlook offered by many members to my request for help. I've also had a good nose round members websites - very impressive, it's also going to be difficult to pick a designer, standard is very high. Forum is a great collective of real pros. It's surely a good example of how a smooth running forum should work well for client+service provider.
