Default Banner Rates?

Does anyone know of anywhere that publishs going rates for banner ads?

I'm being quoted rather high rates for a site, yet they claim that their rates are "normal"

How much have you been quoted? Are you being charged per click, impression or is it a branding exercise?

I'm presuming your advertising blacknight?

The rates I was quoted were between 8 and 10 euro, which is a tad on the high side

There does not appear to be any "normal" rate for banner ads and they appear to vary massively. Dublin.ie charge between 75 and 250 CPM depending on the category! I've been trying to work out how much to charge for banners for a new site and with so much variation out there it is hard to know what to charge.

Stupid question lads, CPM is cost per month ya?

if they pay X amount of money per month and you have their add as one of five that rotate at the top then how does that work if you get more adverts in the banner? i.e. their advert will be seen less and less depending on how many adverts you have rotating!

CPM is cost per 1000 page impressions (M is the roman numeral methinks)

Medialive.ie used to have a list of all rate cards, not too sure if they still do

Yes, but even with ABC I still consider 8 - 10 CPM to be high considering how low click through rates are these days
