From what I can gather (i've thrown a few campaigns at it) it's fine for branding and so on - hence lots of big brand stuff there, but for direct response you're really better off going with a PPC engine like Google, MSN, or Yahoo.

Tried it for a while, while there does seem to be merits such as word association, I dont think people like their privacy being advertised to.
Its different then a google search as you are looking for infomation, where as facebook is supposed to be interaction with your friends.
I didn't find it that great.
