I set up Google Analytics on a couple of sites last month - my blog and Enniskerry.ie - as a trial. They have both been working perfectly except for the blog which suddenly seems to have died the death at around 5pm last Sunday. I have made no changes to the coding on the site. If I go into Settings -> Edit -> Check Status it says I am receiving data. Yet according to their graphs, all traffic ceased on Sunday. The only difference to the site is that I added Google Adsense on Friday, but I can't see how that would affect things. The only significance of last Sunday is that it was exactly a month from setup [as if my trial period had expired!]. Anyone come across this before?

Shucks! Seeing as no one is bothering to answer, I'll reply to myself. For some even stranger reason, Analytics has suddenly started analysing again. My graph has started to peak again.....

| I've found it to be quite flaky at times, so I'd always recommend using Awstats or similar as well

I use Awstats and raw log files, but I like some of the features of Analytics. Their graphical displays are very good along with precise geotracking etc etc.

So it's working fine again? I love the goal tracking and drill downs.

lol replying to yourself is the first sign of madness. I have actually seen this a lot since I have used the service. When it dies I just ignore it until comes back. Another good stat system that is from is StatCounter Free invisible Web tracker, Hit counter and Web stats that allows you to hide their link back but it doesnt have those colourful pie charts.

I cracked up years ago. I like Analytics. It gives very nice drill downs and time analysis. It is also excellent for giving details of a particular day. I also use Awstats for long term trends, and WebTrends if I need detailed customised analysis. I have enough tools, but Analytics is a handy extra one.

Another thing I love about GA is the ecommerce goal $ value.
