    Default DMOZ Listing

    Hi,

My site has recently been listed on DMOZ (about 18months after I submitted it). It was added to DMOZ about 3 or 4 weeks ago.

Google still has not crawled the page with my link on it however. I put a link to the page on my twitter, and I also put a link to my dmoz listing on my homepage, but Google still hasnt crawled it. Is there any other way I can get it to hurry up besides posting links to it?

My site is currently pgrank 3, with 8000 uniques per month. When google sees the DMOZ listing and a few other links I have that still have to be crawled, I hope that my pagerank will go up.

What makes you think that Google hasn't crawled the DMOZ page?
Google is very mean about showing incoming links to a website, while if you use Yahoo site explorer you get a lot more...

I googled the page, and it says that it was last cached on the 26th of May. I know I could just be patient, but will posting links to it make it crawl faster?

The location of your link on DMOZ is very deep in DMOZ's overall structure. The page itself doesn't even have PR, so I would imagine it is crawled very infrequently. I don't think with Google even refreshing this page that it will make a difference to your PR.

Where are the other links placed? Are they on pages with a high PR?

In relation to speeding up the indexing by linking, I've seen it index new pages promptly but pages that have been around for a long time, I've never seen it make a difference.

Yeah it's crazy how long it takes to get listed on DMOZ sometimes!

Do not worry Google takes time to crawl it, if you want to see this than try yahoo backlink explorer that will show you the backlinks, and its great to get listing in DMOZ because after few days or month yur website will automatically get listed in Google directory and other sister directories of DMOZ, that will surely help in ranking as well in PR too.
