Default About Three Way Linking

I was just reading about three way linking and it seems that this would be the preferred option seeing as reciprocal links are not as much in favour with the Search Engines as they used to be.

I have a .net and a .ie domain for my site. I was wondering if I could achieve three way linking by using one for linking to others whilst they link to me on alternative domain.
- Would the fact that the IP address is the same destroy any credit a search engine would otherwise give me?

*I was just reading..*

That topic's been kicked around for a couple of years now, seen as the latest wheeze at the time, general consensus now is G is VERY good at spotting patterns.

FWIW, a while ago I was looking at a couple of sites that had dropped in G, they looked pretty clean until I noticed that while they had 000s of obviously reciprocal links, neither site had ANY outgoing links.

I'd be careful how you go....

Recips would be the safer option, but current thinking is that while still useful, as a "ranking methodology" recips are well past their best before date. Depends on your sector of course, but proper internal architecture can minimise the need for external links, have you had someone look your site over from that POV?

I don't think so. Just make sure that you don't close the loop. For example, having site 1 link to site 2, site 2 link to site 3, and site 2 link to site 1. I believe search engines can detect that.

Ok thanks, that makes sense.

I haven't glengara. My sites just a basic web presence right now with just 5 pages. I'm not satisfied with it but I have to work within the limitations of my own amateur skills. I haven't started trading (and even when i do, it will be a part time venture for '07 at the very least) so getting a professional to do it is out of the question.
Its a new service targeted at builders (which they have to avail of from somebody from now on) so its important on a basic level I simply get my name out there - before they get settled into availing of the services of another service provider.

Why not stick it in the review section and ask for an SEO POV? Internal/navigational links that use "proper" link text are invaluable for ranking inner pages that may never see an outside link, and any time spent on site architecture now will bear fruit in the future, IMO...
