| Hi, I was doing well for a fair few search terms for the first month of my new site. It went up to pr3 in the last update and then a few days later stopped ranking for any search terms. I presume the site is in the "google sandbox" but im confused about one thing. If it is the sandbox why was it doing well for the first month, would u not be put in the sandbox immediatly? Im worried than instead of the sandbox my site might just have been penalized for some unkown reason. |

| The sandbox is usually 'turned on' after you try to rank for something. It's normal to get the early boost followed by having all benefit turned off. You can normally tell if it is the sandbox by seeing if your site ranks for long tail queries. Pick a four or five word phrase from your site and search on it. If they come up while your competitive short tail phrases do not chances are you've hit the sandbox. What *might* you have done to get penalised? What's your URL and I'll take a peak for you.

| The only thing that i could have got penalized for was the XML feeds on the right and bottom of site. I didnt realize but they had the term "ps3" loads of times. I now manually remove them but the term "ps3" was coming up about 70 times on the homepage The url is Playstation 3 Leagues Ireland - PS3.ie |

| Not a ban. 100% sure. You are indexed and caches. What search phrases were you ranking for? For the query 'playstation 3 ireland': Quote:

What are you using to check the search position. All the ones ive seen only check if you are in the first 100 results. I was ranking 5 for "ps3 ireland", no1 for "ps3 leagues", no.2 for "irish ps3", etc. |
