| If I go a Google search for site:mydomain.com - it only gives results on 21 of my pages, but I have hundreds. I'm pretty sure it used to have 4-5 pages of results for the same search.I also have a forum but it only lists a handful of threads. I also recently worked on the SEO putting SEO compatible urls on my phpbb - I did this about a week ago but Google has not picked up on this - perhaps it takes a while before they will reindex. I created a google xml sitemap ans submitted it a few days ago, nothing yet. How long does this usually take? Any suggestions on what I can do here? Thanks guys. |

| Give us a link to look at and we will tell you. The site map if no error found takes minutes to be picked up, then few days to show results.

| Lets see: On some pages the title seems to change alright but on other it doesn't, Like ofter clicking on DJ Profiles and on the profile itself. some alt tags and link title tag missing. Paging used on the page (Software, Hardware) should be at the top as well not only bottom. Hard to miss if you don't scroll down to the end. The forum still has the sessionid in the url. Look for an add-on that will remove it. A Little bit more information on the home page targeting the words for SEO wouldn't hurt, so try coming up with more text. only 2 sites links to you and none are actually related. you have in google 334 pages, 114 in MSN but some of them are not that good, and 26 in Yahoo, but same a MSN not very descriptive. Did you submit a site map to Yahoo as well? Now did you check your sitemap in Google to see if it has any errors? Also have a look at page not found and see if there are any for the last few days and try to correct them. |

If not you're in trouble. If so then it may take some time for G to pick them all up (a few weeks).

| 301 is the HTTP status code telling a browser (or robot) that a page has moved permanently. If you don't tell the bots that the website structure has changed dramatically they'll keep indexing the old site and won't pick up on the new stuff

| Have you added a robots.txt file? If so make sure it is setup correctly. |

| I've just realised that I have been doing something really stupid. When doing the search: site:mydomain.com in google Iw as only getting a few results, but I was going it from the Firefox toolbar... If I do this in the normal google site and click 'the web' I get about 330 results! So google has indexed the site properly! (I wonder why when under .ie is onyl gives me a few of the results? I do host in Ireland, with Blacknight... Any ideas?) Anyway this is great cause it now picks up most/all articles etc. It does also get all the forum posts, however it is not (yet) picking up my seo url's. I submitted a sitemap to google that was automatically generated by my seo extension on Joomla. It cannot recognise the forum as it is PHPBB. Perhaos I need to add that on? Approx how often does Google trawl your site? I just indexed mine yesterday... Last edited by Zascar; 20-05-2007 at 04:13 PM. |

| Google finds 333 pages from your site: http://www.google.ie/search?source=i...forum.com&meta= and 297 is you say Ireland only http://www.google.ie/search?hl=en&q=...cr%3DcountryIE However you will have problems and probably you do with duplicate content because your website can be accessed with www. and without Also try using 301 Permanent Redirect for pages that are accessed using the old URL and also the New URL (after rewrite) Here are few points in dealing with SEO - SEO Dealing with Duplicate Content Website Design, Development, SEO, Hosting, Domains Registration | |
