Thread: Make site SEO compaitble or design new one all together?

A friend of mine has this site. Some effort has been made to make the site seo compatible but really it has not worked out very well. It is based on a template and contains flash which I now know does not help with google etc. We want to try to get on the first page in google for the terms 'Franchising Ireland" or "Franchise Consultants" on google.ie - I'm wondering would it be very difficult to get this SEO compatible and get where we want it the google results - or would we be better to start off with a new site all together, getting someone to whip one up in Joomla?

I think the point is being missed here slightly

The flash doesn't really affect the website as such as you've got normal links that google / similar can follow ... does the page get updated often ... do you have many incoming links ? ...


"franchise consultant" doesn't appear in the text on your front page yet you want it to appear on google for this term ?

do you have a site map ?

The design is not the problem. All links that are included in the flash header are available at the bottom so they are not hard to follow.

The problem is with on-page factors and in-bound links. Not enough text to describe your business, not enough keywords and no h tags (h1, h2, h3,...)

Exactly...

With a bit more text and patients, you can rank very well for Ireland search as there is not large competition in the search engines.
