| Hi, Hope this is the right place to put the question up.. I have done a site with godaddy.com as it was easy to do own site etc. They dont do the .ie domain so registered this with a irish hosting company. I have got the .com indexed on 6 sites within 1 week which is great but to get more irish visitors i bought .ie . i forwarded the .ie to the .com my question is; will i appear on google.ie automatically if people search for my company services or because its a acutal forwarding nothing will appear unless they enter the company name? hope all makes sense, thanks alot |

| Where is your hosting ? If your hosting is in Ireland, you can still easily appear on the pages from ireland on google.ie. This would be helped by your link structure, if you have predominately irish related links. If you are targeting Irish customers why not use the .IE ? If you never had content on your .IE domain, and it was a redirect (301 type I hope) then that domain won't appear in the SERPS. Of course there are cases when it can, like it is pretty possible that if someone searches for ABCxyz.ie on google your .IE domain will show.

| I dont think i can download the site from godaddy to upload on the .ie host. So Im just forwarding all traffic hoping that the .ie will get ranked with google and the likes. |

| If the website .IE doesn't exist how can it show up in the SERPS ? Your website exists as a .COM and that is the one that will show, if someone searches for your company. |

You have a .com hosted in the US. redirecting the .ie makes no difference I'm afraid. 2 options: 1. host .com in Ireland 2. move site to .ie My money would be on 2. And if you can host the .ie in Ireland also that woul dbe even better. Even though you dont have to, Google seems to be making a right bunch of geotargeting these days. Best safe than sorry.
