Hi guys,
I'm encountering an issue with a 301 redirect which I am trying to implement.

I have added the following rewrite rule in a htaccess file in my root..
When I check the redirect in my browser I get redirect to http://www.domain.com/shop//sports instead of http://www.domain.com/shop/buy-cheap-sports-equipment

Any ideas on what might be going wrong? I'm probably missing something obvious but I ain't spotting it.

Have you tried redirecting the actual pagenames or are you trying to redirect whole folders, for example :

redirect 301 /buy/index.htm http://www.domain.com/shop/index.htm

change the order the of redirects ... see if that does anything.

I have never seen redirects having to be listed in reverse directory order before.
